About Evan Carson
Evan’s path into professional dog training began with his own dog, Capone. When Capone developed reactivity toward other dogs, Evan sought help from Off Leash K9 Training in 2011. That experience sparked a deeper interest in dog training and eventually led him to build a career around helping other dogs and their owners.
In 2017, Evan opened his first Off Leash K9 Training location in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He now serves as president and owner of locations serving the Lehigh Valley, Scranton, Bucks County, Salt Lake City, and Northern Utah, leading a team of trainers across Pennsylvania and Utah.
Evan has continued developing his knowledge by attending seminars with internationally known trainers and is actively working toward his Training Without Conflict certification.
Evan’s Training Philosophy
Evan’s approach emphasizes clear communication, appropriate boundaries, structured play, and helping dogs learn to make better decisions in everyday situations. Rather than relying solely on obedience commands to manage behavior, he focuses on helping dogs understand expectations even when they are not actively being given a command.
He also sees play and fulfillment as valuable parts of the training process, helping create engagement while strengthening communication between dogs and their owners.
Training Tip From Evan: “Don’t rely on obedience commands alone to manage behavior. Focus on clear communication, boundaries, and fulfillment through play so your dog learns to think and make better decisions.”
